About Us

Welcome to Clouston Craft — a small family business creating handmade rural leather accessories, built with care and attention to detail.

Inspired by the ruggedness of the New Zealand high country and the endurance of the Merino Sheep (reflected in our logo), we design and craft leather goods that are practical, timeless, and made to last.

Clouston Craft began when my wife Sally and I started making our own gear to replace other items that had worn out. By refining designs to improve usability and reinforce high-stress areas, we created pieces that quickly gained the attention of friends and local shepherds. From there, our range grew into what it is today.

As full-time farmers, our products are genuinely put through their paces. We use them every day, refining what works and improving what doesn’t. There’s nothing better than seeing our gear out in the field, doing exactly what it was designed to do.

With a young family of three and the demands of farm life, our workshop time is limited. For that reason, some larger or custom orders may take a little longer. We focus on quality over quantity — ensuring every piece is made to a standard we stand behind.
